While we usually process and ship orders within 2 business days, please note that if you order multiple items that include an item that is out of stock we reserve the right to delay shipping your order for up to a week if we believe we can ship your order complete within a week of your order being placed.

We ship from our location in Nova Scotia except where otherwise noted in the product's description.  Depending on where you live in Canada; you should receive your order within 4 to 10 business days.  Some items may take longer and this is noted in the product's description.    Remote locations may also take a little longer.  Please email us with your delivery postal code if you require a more accurate delivery date or wish a quote to upgrade to Canada Post's Xpresspost (Air) Service (you'll need to specify which products are to be shipped).

Orders to the USA will take longer (please see below**).   We are only able to ship to addresses in Canada and the contiguous United States.

Insured shipping and handling charges are calculated based on the total value of the order being shipped to a single address.  Note that a few products are subject to an oversize shipping surcharge in addition to our regular rates and this is noted in the product's detailed description.

Prices
All prices are in Canadian dollars and do not include taxes.

Taxes
We're based in Nova Scotia.  As such, your order (items and shipping) is subject to applicable GST/HST based on delivery address as follows:

- 5% GST only for Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, Prince Edward Island, Yukon, Nunavut and Northwest Territories
- 12% HST for British Columbia

- 13% HST for Ontario, New Brunswick and Newfoundland & Labrador
- 15% HST for Nova Scotia

No taxes are charged by our shop for United States destinations.**

Orders to destinations in Canada
Orders are generally shipped using Canada Post Expedited Parcel service.  (Some products may ship via another service, at our discretion, or as noted in their product descriptions.)  All services are insured and traceable.  Depending on where you live in Canada; you should receive your order within 4 to 10 business days.  The fee you are charged is for both shipping and handling of your order.  We pack every order carefully, using appropriate and, wherever possible, recycled or biodegradable materials.

** Orders to destinations in the United States of America
Our charges do not include any American federal and state taxes and duties; payment of these is the responsibility of the purchaser. Orders shipped to the USA are shipped via Canada Post Expresspost USA / USPS Priority Mail. (Some products may ship via another service, at our discretion, or as noted in their product descriptions.)  All services are insured and traceable.   Delivery takes 5 to 12 business days.   Please note that US Customs officials may delay parcels at the border and may impose duty or taxes if applicable.  For the Birds Nature Shop is not responsible for delays, duties or taxes imposed by US Customs.  Customers based in the USA should inquire with their local customs office for further information.

Be advised that our product selection, particularly weathervanes, may become limited as the holiday season approaches.   We recommend that you order early for the best selection.
